A Queensland woman has found her baby inside her own diapers after a baby carrier malfunctioned.
The woman was in the care of her grandparents last weekend when she found her newborn daughter in the crib in her mother’s room.
The toddler was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition.
“We found the little girl and we’re not sure if she’s alive or not,” Ms McEwen said.
“She was in her parents arms and we went down and got her to a specialist in Brisbane.”
The grandmother said the child was not crying or showing any signs of distress.
“The baby is in a diaper, it’s very warm and she’s wearing a coat,” she said.
Ms McEwing said her family was not prepared for the unexpected and that she was thankful for the care they had received from emergency services.
“I’ve got so many good friends in the area, I don’t know how we could have done it without them,” she told the ABC.
“It’s really humbling to see a newborn baby in the family and to be able to look after it.”
But the baby is very lucky and lucky it’s a healthy one.
